Peter J. Boyle is the Principal of Charles B. W. Boyle & Son and is a Solicitor specialising in Litigation (particularly employer liability, medical negligence and Personal Injuries claims), Debt Collection, Employment Law, Conveyancing and Property Law and Wills and Probate. He also has extensive experience of sporting disciplinary hearings.
Peter has a number of high profile cases to his credit, including Murphy v. Bord Telecom Éireann, a leading employment law case which was successful in the European Court of Justice and confirmed the right of men and women to equal pay.
Peter holds a B.A. (Mod.) from Trinity College Dublin and was admitted as a Solicitor in 1977.
Outside of law, Peter has also had a distinguished career in rugby administration. He is a former President of the IRFU (2006/07) and former President of the Leinster Branch (1983/84). He represented Ireland for 12 years on the international governing body, World Rugby [formerly known as the International Rugby Board], and sat on its Executive Committee. He also served as Treasurer of the Leinster Branch for 12 years, and was a Director of both European Rugby Cup Limited (which ran the Heineken Cup) and Six Nations Rugby Limited.
