Melanie is a Partner in the firm and has a keen interest in both the law and in people. She has a passion for bringing about the best outcomes for her clients and enjoys finding solutions to their varied legal issues.

Melanie has accumulated a broad range of legal knowledge and practical problem-solving during her 17 years in practice. She deals with disputes of all kinds, advises on a wide variety of legal issues, and guides clients thoughtfully and meticulously in their Wills, Probate, Enduring Power of Attorney and Wards of Court matters. She is also one of the foremost Solicitors in Ireland in Illegal Adoption cases.

Melanie is the great-granddaughter of the firm’s founder and continues the family tradition of legal excellence as the firm moves towards its 100th year of service to its clients. She qualified as a Solicitor at Matheson, one of Ireland’s prestigious “Big Five” firms, in 2007 and practised in its Commercial Litigation department until she moved to Washington DC to participate in the ABA’s International Lawyer Exchange Program. She joined the family firm, Charles B. W. Boyle & Son, in 2011 and became the firm’s first female Partner in 2020.

Melanie holds a BCL (International) from University College Dublin and University of Minnesota Law School, and Diplomas in Employment Law and in Construction Law from the Law Society of Ireland.

Outside work, Melanie enjoys hiking with her dog, watching rugby, and practising yoga. She is also a proud volunteer with the Big Brother Big Sister youth mentorship programme in the north inner city.
